Year 5 Art

In Art this half-term, Year 5 have been exploring the work of Australian artist India Flint, who is known for dyeing textiles and paper using materials gathered from the natural environment.

Inspired by her work, the children created their own Hapa-Zome prints. Hapa-Zome is a traditional Japanese printing technique meaning ‘leaf dye’, where leaves and petals are carefully hammered to release their natural pigments onto fabric or paper.

The results were vibrant, unique and truly fascinating — a wonderful celebration of creativity and nature!
