Y6 Tudor Day
On Monday, Year 6 celebrated Tudor Day. We started the day reading some Tudor poetry and learnt about the differing lives of rich and poor Tudors; we also enjoyed performing the poetry to one another. Next, we spent some time learning how to make a Tudor money purse, and the staff were so impressed to see the imaginative designs that the children came up with. Before lunch, we had a Tudor feast and tried some traditional Tudor food. We ate some staples like bread, cheese and pork pie, and also tried some unusual dishes such as naughty cake, spiced pears, shrewsbury biscuits and cinnamon tart. These lip-smacking dishes went down a treat! After lunch, we had a go at some Tudor dancing and specifically danced a Corante in groups of 6. The year 6 staff were so impressed to see everyone trying their best to learn the steps and bust a move Tudor style!
Year 6 had a great day being Tudors, and it was the perfect way to end a great half-term!
